9.1.12 – Ohio University vs. Penn State

It’s the most magical time of the year again; football season is back! The Bobcats opened up the year in style with a big win over Penn State. While the game would have always been a big deal to OU, it took on a level of national attention thanks to Penn State’s offseason controversies. For the first time since 1966 Penn State took the field without head coach Joe Paterno leading them. Instead Bill O’Brien took the reins of the football program which is now focused on rebuilding its reputation while fans still grapple with the now complicated legacy of JoePa.

But then once the football started it seemed as if everything else just faded away. For the first half of the game it seemed as though Penn State was firmly in control and would be able to start the post-JoePa era off on a bit of a positive note.

However, after the second half the Bobcats took over and completely dominated the game from that point on.
